I know it’s not too long since the last one (and, please, I am still looking for some feedback on that piece of writing, so take 5 minutes and let me know if I set the tone of the time okay), but a pile of links has come my way.
First, the SA Writers’ Centre has a new blog. Considering the sort of people who work at SAWC and who they get in to do things for them, it could well end up being quite the interesting font of writerly knowledge. And so far, so good. You can find it right here.
This is an old one, but it is the 22 rules of story-telling according to Pixar. it breaks down story-telling to its simplest terms and, damn!, it is absolutely brilliant. A must read for all writers. It’s somewhere around here.
Speaking of brilliant writing, Kurt Vonnegut broke writing down to its basics and a series of graphs. There’s a video and it all makes sense and there is a reason why the man is a genius in the writing field. And I believe it’s here!
Next we have a well done blog post about dealing with negative reviews. The tongue-in-cheek stuff is funny, but the underlying sentiment is strong. And, basically, the overall theme is don;t read reviews. Easier said than done, I know, but there you are. Well worth the read. It can be found in this place.
And finally, a couple of posts of mine from Inside Pulse that could be interesting to some people. The local Riot City Wrestling group recently held their 100th show, and my review of it and them is somewhere here. And then I wrote about singing wrestlers with video clips. Could be interesting for all the wrong reasons.
Lots of stuff for everyone to read. I hope you all enjoy it, and please, some feedback would be appreciated.
