Lots to catch up on!
First – a new book is available! Woo-hoo! Song Stories: Volume 1 by Wakefield Mahon is a series of short stories in all the spec fic genres, all of them based on various songs. My story – ‘Sugar Shack’ – is apparently the last one in the book, which is something of a compliment to the work. Having received my freebie copy, I have to say a lot of the stories are quite good. It is currently available in Kindle, with paperback to come.
Next, an interesting link. Some one railing against certain contracts. Some language is NSFW. Here ’tis: http://whatever.scalzi.com/2013/03/06/a-contract-from-alibi/
Another acceptance next – my first Australian one in a loooong time. Midnight Echo Volume 9 comes out in May, and, yes, one of my tales has made the cut.
A Cracked.com article next, which just tickled me. It’s from August of 2012, but I only found it recently. Insane acts of writing.
And finally, some good news. With the recent demise of Pill Hill Press, it seemed that Static Movement Press was going to be without a printer. Well, the editors and owners have worked their behinds off, and Static Movement is once again releasing books, so the four or so I am slated to be in may yet see the light of day!
Two novels are almost done – one for TAFE, one for a YA competition, so we may yet have more of those entries sooner rather than later as well!
One of those months so far, it seems.
